SERVICE IN THE WORLD

ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING

First Presbyterian Church collects special offerings for OGHS during Lent (Ash Wednesday until Easter).

Since 1949 Presbyterians have joined with millions of other Christians through One Great Hour of Sharing to share God’s love with our neighbors-in-need around the world. Your generous gifts to this Special Offering help provide relief those affected by natural disasters, provide food to the hungry, and assist in helping to empower the poor and oppressed.

Your gift to One Great Hour of Sharing will support the following:

CENTS-ABILITY SUNDAY

On the second sunday of each month, FPCR collects loose change and other monies to support the Presbyterian Hunger Program. Cents-Ability is a small first step in the battle against hunger and poverty. We invite every member — of all ages — to contribute a few cents at every meal. This simple act is an expression of thanks for what we have received. It is also a commitment to share with others in response to Jesus' command "You give them something to eat." When members bring their offerings to church on the second Sunday, the coins "make a joyful noise unto the Lord" as they are received and dedicated.
