CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Christian Education is the ministry that engages people in the understanding of Jesus’ commandments to love God and to love neighbor. At every stage and age, we take to heart Jesus’ instruction to love God with all our mind. This ministry includes a variety of Bible studies, learning and fellowship activities.

ADULTS

The Present Word | 9:00 am, Room A109

The Present Word is an adult Bible study curriculum that uses the Uniform Series which is a way to study the Bible over a six-year period. Each quarter works its way through different books of the Bible and focuses on a different theme. As you study each passage of scripture discover its deeper meaning and how it is relevant to our world today.

The Coffee Class | 9:00 am, Room A111

Come discuss topics of interest to thoughtful Christians.

Women's Circles | Monthly

The Presbyterian Women are very active at FPCR. We have one circle that meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m., and another circle that meets in the evenings at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, in the Library. All women of the church are invited!

CHILDREN

"Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”
- Matthew 19:14

FPCR is blessed to have a growing children’s program. Through worship, education, fellowship, and music, children at First Presbyterian Church are taught how much they are valued by God and the people of this congregation. All of our children’s programs follow the guidelines listed in our Child Protection Policy.

TIME FOR TINY THEOLOGIANS

During the Sunday worship service, children are given a special opportunity to gather on the chancel steps and hear a sermon that is designed especially for them.

WORSHIP BAGS

At FPCR we understand that little hands and minds might need extra assistance during worship. In the narthex, parents and children will find “Worship Bags” filled with crayons, books, and papers designed to assist children, as well as parents, in enjoying the worship service.

CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP

While children are welcome in all of the worship services at FPCR, we realize that sitting through an entire worship service can be challenging for our youngest friends, not to mention their parents! Each week following the Time with Tiny Theologians, childcare is provided for children kindergarten age and younger. Just meet at the back of the sanctuary and someone will show you where to go.

SUNDAY SCHOOL | 9:00 am

Our children are currently divided into two age appropriate classes and are greeted and led by loving, trained teachers. The teachers, music leaders and assistants communicate Christ’s love to each child through music, crafts, and Bible stories.

NURSERY

FPCR is happy to provide a safe, loving environment for our youngest members and friends. Well-trained caregivers provide attention to infants and toddlers during worship, Sunday School, and other church events.

All members who volunteer with children and youth activities are required to complete Child Protection Training.
