We Serve
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee, or thirsty and give thee drink?  And when did we see thee a stranger and welcome thee, or naked and clothe thee? And when did we see thee sick or in prison and visit thee?  And the King will answer them, Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.”
Matthew 25: 37 – 40 (RSV)

Each time we meet to worship, as a congregation we join together to affirm our mission:

Responding to God’s love and grace, we-----

  • Worship with joy . . .
  • Nurture with faith
  • And serve others with love.

The Mission Ministry’s main charge is to address the last part of the congregation’s basic purposes.

Each of us responds individually to God’s love and grace with thanksgiving, because God gives us life and showers us with innumerable blessings.

As individuals, we serve and support each other with love in the church family, but we also reach out to others, particularly those in need.

As a congregation we join to serve others with love by responding to those in need in our congregation, community, and the wider world we live in.

It is the purpose of the Mission Ministry to organize and implement the congregation’s corporate response to the imperative to serve others with love, particularly those in need.

The Mission Ministry is entrusted with funds donated and budgeted by the congregation to reach out and address human needs.

The Mission Ministry also is charged with identifying and creating opportunities for individual members of the congregation to volunteer their time and talents to address human needs.
