"Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”
- Matthew 19:14
FPC is blessed to have a growing children’s program. Through worship, education, fellowship, and music, children at First Presbyterian Church are taught how much they are valued by God and the people of this congregation. All of our children’s programs follow the guidelines listed in our Child Protection Policy.
Listed here are a few of the many opportunities for children at First Presbyterian Church:
Children’s Sermon
During the Sunday worship service, children are given a special opportunity to gather on the chancel steps and hear a sermon that is designed especially for them.
Worship Bags
At FPC we understand that little hands and minds might need extra assistance during worship. In the narthex, parents and children will find “Worship Bags” filled with crayons, books, and papers designed to assist children, as well as parents, in enjoying the worship service.
Childcare During Worship
While children are welcome in all of the worship services at FPC, we realize that sitting through an entire worship service can be challenging for our youngest friends, not to mention their parents! Each week following the Children’s Sermon, childcare is provided for children kindergarten age and younger. Just meet at the back of the sanctuary and someone will show you where to go.
Sunday School
Sunday Mornings at 9:00 am
Our children are currently divided into two age appropriate classes and are greeted and led by loving, trained teachers. The teachers, music leaders and assistants communicate Christ’s love to each child through music, crafts, and Bible stories.
Nursery
FPC is happy to provide a safe, loving enviroment for our youngest members and friends. Well-trained caregivers provide attention to infants and toddlers during worship, Sunday School, and other church events.
First Friday - Parent's Evening Out
Play and activities for children in a fun/safe environment the first Friday of each month, while parents have an “evening out” to shop, do errands, watch a movie, or just relax.
