About Faith and Grief:
The mission of Faith and Grief is to provide ongoing comfort to persons who have experienced the death of a loved one. Rev. Wendy Fenn and Rev. Dr. Fran Shelton launched the program in 2008 at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church of Dallas. Since then, hundreds of people have participated in Faith and Grief workshops and luncheons.
A Note from Rev. Bev:
Rev. Beverly Hughes, parish associate at First Presbyterian Church of Richardson, worked with Faith & Grief leadership and our neighbor churches to bring the workshops and luncheons to Richardson.
“Grief can be difficult because we often have very little experience with death. So when someone close to us dies, we might be unsure even how to act. In many cases, Faith & Grief classes simply provide the right words and tools for understanding and navigating the grieving process. It’s important for those going through grief to have a common language."
"Everyone grieves differently, and each person’s experience is unique. Faith & Grief focuses on the things we share in common, so participants can feel like they’re not alone in their loss.”
“Our three congregations recognized a real need in this community, and we’re pleased to open our doors and hearts to our neighbors. In doing so, we seek to share and demonstrate God’s compassion and healing power.”
